Women’s Elimination Chamber Match
Alexa Bliss (c) vs. Sasha Banks vs. Bayley vs. Mickie James vs. Sonya Deville vs. Mandy Rose
Asuka won the first ever women’s Royal Rumble match last month and earned a shot at the women’s title of her choice at WrestleMania 34.
The very next night on Raw, Stephanie McMahon advised that Asuka wait on making that decision, because Alexa Bliss was going to defend her Raw Women’s Championship against five other women at Elimination Chamber 2018 on Sunday, Feb. 25 in Paradise, Nevada. Yes, of course Stephanie McMahon made sure to be front and center for this announcement of the first ever women’s Elimination Chamber match.
With that in mind, let’s take a look at all 6 chamber participants, in the order that they are most likely to win.
Alexa Bliss
Alexa Bliss tried to dodge this match by scolding Raw General Manager Kurt Angle for his inept decision-making over the last few months, but she couldn’t convince him to change his mind. Undeterred, Bliss decided to make amends with her former friend Mickie James so that she has an ally inside the chamber. Her plan appears to have mostly worked, though it seems inevitable that Bliss will stab James in the back again when the time is right.
Sasha Banks
Sasha Banks has put on some fantastic matches over the last month against Asuka as well as Bayley, but The Boss came up short in both encounters. However she did force the champ to tap out this past week on Raw during a 6-woman tag team match. Sasha is a 4-time Women’s Champion and is the single biggest threat to Alexa’s reign.
Bayley
Bayley and Sasha Banks have tried to outdo each other and be the one to break Asuka’s undefeated streak, but neither superstar was successful in that quest. Bayley did score a big win over Sasha in their own 1-on-1 match on Feb. 12 and has been extra aggressive lately. With Alexa Bliss and Mickie James forming an alliance of sorts, and Absolution clearly working together as a unit, Bayley and Sasha will probably have to put their recent tensions aside and stick together at the right times in order to survive this brutal match.
Mickie James
Mickie James had multiple shots at Alexa’s title in October and failed both times, so it doesn’t seem likely that she will win this match. However, she is an excellent worker and it wouldn’t be surprising to see her wrestle the majority of the match to help it all flow well together.
Sonya Deville
Absolution has pretty much lost all of their luster ever since Paige got hurt and so it would be shocking to see either member win the championship inside the chamber. Over the last few weeks Sonya has lost singles matches against Bayley and Mickie James. However, Sonya gets a higher ranking than Mandy simply for her quick and decisive victory over Sasha Banks on the Jan. 15 episode of Raw.
Mandy Rose
Mandy Rose rarely ever gets to wrestle in singles matches on television and seems to be the least likely competitor to win the first ever women’s Elimination Chamber match.
