This week’s episode of SmackDown Live saw Jinder Mahal continue trying to meddle in the business of United States Champion Bobby Roode and Randy Orton. Nothing he said or did seemed to matter, however, as General Manager Daniel Bryan announced Orton would challenge for Roode’s title in a singles match at the upcoming WWE Fastlane pay-per-view (PPV) scheduled for Sun., Mar. 11, 2018, at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio.
Sorry, Jinder!
Elsewhere, Ruby Riott and her Squad scored a victory over SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, and Naomi in six-woman tag team action. Riott and Charlotte haven’t crossed paths much, with WWE instead teasing out a confrontation between the two in a match they’ve yet to book.
Now they have. They’ll wrestle for her title at Fastlane.
The updated match card:
- AJ Styles vs. Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn vs. Baron Corbin vs. Dolph Ziggler (WWE championship)
- Bobby Roode vs. Randy Orton (U.S. championship)
- Charlotte vs. Ruby Riott (Women’s championship)
- The Usos vs. The New Day (Tag team championship)
