The story of Rich Swann’s run with the WWE is over for now. Today (Feb. 15) the WWE released a statement that the former crusieweight champion and the company have parted ways.
The official WWE statement reads
“Rich Swann and WWE have mutually agreed to part ways as of today, February 15, 2018.
WWE wishes Swann the best in all of his future endeavors.”
Following a six year run on the indie scene, Swann was signed by the WWE to a developmental deal in Oct. 2015. The 27-year-old Swann spent time his time on and off NXT television before entering the first ever Cruiserweight Classic tournament in June 2016.
Swann made his WWE main roster debut in Sept. 2016 on Raw and would go on to capture the Cruiserweight championship on the premiere episode of 205 Live in Nov. 2016.
Back in December 2017, in the early Sunday morning hours, Rich Swann was arrested on two charges; battery and kidnapping/false imprisonment. The charges were later dismissed.
