Mark Henry on possible WWE return: ‘I may pull a Brett Favre’

WWE.com

Is the Hall of Pain ready to reopen? For over 20 years Mark Henry has been an employee of the WWE. The last time fans saw Henry compete was at WrestleMania 33 in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

Nearly a year later Henry has not yet closed the door on one more WWE match. Speaking with ABC 6 Action News in Philadelphia( H/T to Wrestling Inc. for the transcription), The World’s Strongest Man was asked about a WWE comeback or farewell tour.

“I may pull a Brett Favre. Down the road, if my body feels right, or if some young punk feels they have too many words they can’t back up, I may step back.”

Henry, who still works with the WWE behind the scenes, also explained his current role with the company.

“For the most part, my whole deal right now is trying to bring more awareness to the WWE, its charities, [and] its programs. Travel the world and introduce our business to people that don’t have the WWE. Our developmental franchise, NXT, I scout. There’s guys in the company now: Braun Strowman, Baron Corbin, and Apollo Crews that I’ve helped cultivate, ya know and say, ‘Hey, that guy can do something. Bring him in.”

Besides his work with the WWE, Henry also is now a permanent co-host for SiriusXM’s Busted Open pro wrestling morning show.

If Mark Henry returns to the ring for one more feud, who would you like to see The World’s Strongest Man put over on his last run to retirement?
