Even when Johnny Gargano wins, he loses. Pro wrestling’s Charlie Brown had a coming out party over the weekend at NXT TakeOver: Philadelphia and even though Gargano came up short, he along with Andrade “Cien” Almas competed in one the best matches in the promotion’s history.
Johnny was down but not out.
In latest edition of the The Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscription required and recommended) the Gargano and Almas’ NXT title match even earned a coveted five star rating from Dave Meltzer. The Johnny Gargano vs. Andrade “Cien” Almas instant classic was the first WWE match since CM Punk vs. John Cena at Money in the Bank 2011 to earn a five star review from Meltzer.
So of course Gargano took to social media for a nice pat on the back and to briefly bask in the glory of his accomplishments.

That rating belongs to the real star of that match... your @WWENXT champion @AndradeCienWWE https://t.co/t2wyGd6mZ2
For the love of Johnny Wrestling.
Can Johnny Gargano have a single second of happiness before life knocks him back down again? Five seconds of peace? One second?
