WWE Stock Report: The Miz keeps losing matches on SmackDown

WWE.com

Some places do power rankings. Here at Cageside, we do a stock report.

In this weekly series, we identify three Superstars (or groups of Superstars) who are on their way up, and three that are moving in the opposite direction. After a busy week that included Dolph Ziggler pinning Drew McIntyre, Ronda Rousey wrestling in the main event of Raw, and Samoa Joe encouraging everyone to drink responsibly, a lot of fortunes were changed.

With that in mind, let’s see whose stock has increased the most this week:

Stock Up #3: Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville

Mandy and Sonya have been getting more mic time lately, which is necessary for creating a strong connection with the audience. They also defeated Asuka and Charlotte in a tag team match; this was clearly the biggest win of their WWE career.

Stock Up #2: Dean Ambrose

Dean Ambrose once again owned Seth Rollins on Raw this week, and Dean’s mic work was a notch above his previous heel promos in this story.

Stock Up #1: Daniel Bryan

Bryan has quickly established himself as the best heel in WWE through his preachy environmentalist rants and vicious physical attacks on AJ Styles. One month ago I never would have predicted that Bryan would be both the WWE Champion and overwhelmingly booed by the WWE audience.

Now let’s see whose stock has decreased the most this week:

Stock Down #3: The Miz

The Miz isn’t really in a bad spot considering he gets plenty of television time and is involved in a storyline with Shane McMahon. However, he has lost his last six matches on SmackDown, spanning the seven most recent episodes. It’s hard to take anyone seriously as a top guy when they lose that often.

Here is the full match listing over that time:

  • Oct. 23: Rey Mysterio def. The Miz by pinfall with the diving splash.
  • Oct. 30: Jeff Hardy & Rey Mysterio def. The Miz & Randy Orton by pinfall with a Swanton Bomb from Hardy on Miz.
  • Nov. 13: Rey Mysterio def. The Miz with a crucifix pin.
  • Nov. 20: Dwayne & Wayne Bryant def. The Miz & Shane McMahon by pinfall with a small package from Dwayne on Miz.
  • Nov. 27: Kofi Kingston def. The Miz by pinfall with Trouble in Paradise.
  • Dec. 4: AJ Styles def. The Miz by submission with the Calf Killer.

Stock Down #2: Chad Gable & Bobby Roode

It’s already been established that Bobby Roode loses championship matches when distracted by a man peeing on things. The downward spiral for Roode and Gable continued this week when they were gullible enough to believe that Baron Corbin would treat them fairly. Not surprisingly it blew up in their faces, and they were annihilated in a handicap match by Authors of Pain and Drake Maverick.

Stock Down #1: The Revival

The Revival once again looked completely incompetent on Raw in a loss against the Lucha House Party. Things are so bad for the Revival right now that many fans are hoping their tweets with the Young Bucks during Raw could mean Dash and Dawson will ditch WWE for better opportunities elsewhere.

There you have it, Cagesiders. Whose stock do you think has changed the most this week?
