WWE waited until its hugely controversial Crown Jewel event to bring Hulk Hogan back to television, paving the way for a future relationship between the two. It always seemed clear this was an inevitability. Then, just last week, he was at the March for Dimes event representing the company.
Now, it sounds like he’s got a new deal in the works.
Dave Meltzer mentioned on Wrestling Observer Radio that he’s “about to sign,” though it won’t be to wrestle. It’s likely a Legends deal, one that gives them the option of bringing him in for big events.
There is also the chance he’s used as a General Manager or some sort of on-screen role that doesn’t involve actually taking bumps. Say, isn’t Baron Corbin on the verge of losing his job as acting GM of Monday Night Raw? And doesn’t Kurt Angle, the former GM, want to wrestle more?
Speculation aside, it should surprise no one that WWE is looking at signing Hogan to another deal. The question is whether or not fans will receive him warmly once they do so.
