Maybe this is just wishful thinking.
WWE cruiserweight turned full time main roster addition Mustafa Ali is having himself a final month of 2018.
It began with a simple announcement hours before SmackDown was set to go live on Dec. 11, that Ali would be wrestling WWE champion Daniel Bryan on that night’s episode. One week later, Ali was officially added to the SmackDown roster.
Now it looks like he’s continuing his feud with Bryan, after he was attacked backstage by the champion on the Christmas Day edition of SmackDown.
Last night (Dec. 26) at WWE’s house show in Chicago, Ali was again put in a prime time spot in the line-up. Hailing from Illinois, after the match WWE released this heartwarming video of Ali interacting with his daughter.

Are WWE heating up Ali for big things in 2019?
The pieces seem to be slowly coming together for Mustafa Ali to get a big push, maybe even to the top of the card, in the coming months.
From a first round loss in the inaugural Cruiserweight Classic back in 2016 to becoming The Heart & Soul of 205 Live, to maybe earning a title shot versus Daniel Bryan at the 2019 Royal Rumble? Now that’s an underdog we could get behind.
