2018 may go down as the year we confirmed Braun Strowman is the new Big Show. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. But occassional transitional champ who goes from angry monster to loveable giant goof whenever the story needs him to isn’t what some of us hoped for the Monster Among Men coming into the year.
Maybe I’ll get mad about that later. Pretty sure Jim Cornette is still ranting about the Nicholas tag team reign, so I won’t be alone should I decide to get back to it. In the meantime, it’s Christmas, WWE is reminding us they dressed him up like Buddy from his Holmes & Watson co-star’s classic Elf, and I’m gonna enjoy a “loveable giant goof” moment.
Braun is pretty great in this, but Drew Gulak as Peter Dinklage’s Miles Finch (working with not-Kyle Gass on his old “Better 205 Live” Powerpoint instead of a last minute children’s book bestseller) is a sneaky MVP.
Check it out, and give it a smile. Fretting about booking can wait until after the holidays.
