Is the great Miz face turn slowly happening before our eyes?
Heading into 2019, a heel version of Daniel Bryan is on top of the SmackDown brand while The Miz is being largely over looked. The Miz didn’t even have a match at WWE’s final pay-per-view of 2018.
Speaking with the Sporting News about Tribute to the Troops, Miz and Mrs., and a few other topics, it sure felt at times like Miz was planting the seeds for his own underdog story in 2019. During the interview, Miz was asked about being left off the TLC card last weekend and he gave a genuine answer.
“You always want to be a part of every show when you’re a WWE superstar. You want to be the main event. You want to be the talk of the entire the entire show. But, sometimes, you’re left off because that’s just the nature of the beast. Sometimes you’re needed, other times you’re not. I looked at it as I need to work harder. I need to try harder but to be completely honest, I don’t know how to work harder because I don’t think anyone works as hard as me.”
When asked about him and his longtime rival trending in opposite directions, Miz had a response ready to go
“You know, I just roll with the punches. Listen, I want a WWE Championship opportunity. The problem is nobody wants to give me that opportunity. I’m not a Daniel Bryan or an AJ Styles or you know, all these other superstars that get opportunity after opportunity after opportunity. So I wait. I finagle. I figure out strategies in order to align myself to basically get to a WWE Championship and that’s exactly what I’m doing right now.”
Is there still a path where The Miz and The New Daniel Bryan meet at WrestleMania 35?
