Don’t worry, everybody - Daniel Bryan says he’s fine

There was a lot of excitement on Dec. 18, with Mustafa Ali being permanently moved over to SmackDown and pinning WWE champion Daniel Bryan in the first match after his promotion was announced. That was dampened somewhat when everyone realized Ali might have injured DB with the move that won the match - his inverted 450 finisher, the 054.

You can hear the apology he immediately offered the champ and more clearly see how Mustafa’s knees (rather than his upper torso) landed squarely in Bryan’s chest and gut thanks to these tweets from GIF Skull:

The good news is, Fightful reports that Bryan was adamant he was fine when approached backstage by concerned WWE reps. Ali is said to have continued apologizing, too. The Beard was checked out by trainers and apparently given a clean bill of health, as he was participated in the taping for Dec. 25 as normal.

You can read more about what Bryan got up to after taking a knee to sternum in our spoiler report here. Mustafa got some work in, too, if you want to speculate about “heat” for the botched spot.

Sounds to me like a case of “accidents happen”, though.
