Surprise, surprise.
With viewership plummeting over the past month, WWE decided the short term solution — one that will hopefully lead to a long term solution — was to bring Vince McMahon (and, really, the entire McMahon family) back to Monday Night Raw. It did indeed lead to a boost, as this week’s show drew 2.54 million viewers, per Showbuzz Daily. That’s up big from the record lows of last week’s 2.19 million viewers.
The hourly breakdown looks better too:
Hour one: 2.71 million
Hour two: 2.58 million
Hour three: 2.36 million
The next couple of weeks likely won’t maintain this audience, considering Raw falls on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, but the McMahon’s promised 2019 will be an eventful one full of change. The idea, of course, is that fans should be patient because it’s going to get better.
We’ll have to wait a couple weeks to see if viewership reflects a willingness to do just that.
