The main event of TLC just last night in San Jose, California, featured Ronda Rousey interfering in the SmackDown women’s championship match and ultimately costing Becky Lynch her title. She also cost Charlotte Flair that title, as only Asuka was left alone to climb a ladder and take it for herself.
That sets up matches for Rousey against both of them. Or, potentially, it sets up just one match, a triple threat featuring all three. Any combination of the three sounds like a WrestleMania main event, doesn’t it?
In her pre-TLC Q&A, Rousey straight out said it:
“I’m taking all of my pent up-edness and putting it all in the main event of WrestleMania so that the women can make history and we can break this seal, the ceiling. ... We’re calling it. Me and Becky are just calling that shit. Or maybe Charlotte, you know? Or maybe a three-way.”
Vince McMahon returns to Raw tonight to “shake things up” and Royal Rumble is just around the corner. We aren’t far off from knowing if WWE really is going to give women the main event spot at WrestleMania 35.
