What, you thought any other match was going to be the main event?
Becky Lynch was cleared to return from a broken face — she got payback for it earlier in the evening — and that meant she was going to headline tonight’s (Sun., Dec. 16, 2018) WWE TLC pay-per-view (PPV) from the SAP Center in San Jose, California. She would do so in a triple threat Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match for her SmackDown women’s championship against Charlotte Flair and Asuka.
The match was, predictably enough, wild. They did some brutal looking spots that were relatively safe and some brutal spots that ended up not being so safe, like this one:

Charlotte literally cried out on the broadcast, and it didn’t seem like selling so much as reacting to how painful that must have been. She did manage to get up and get back into the ring with a kendo stick, however. Leave it to a Flair to get up from such a thing.
And then do something like this:

There were the usual spots in a match like this, where someone climbed the ladder too slow and then too fast, but that’s easy to look past when everyone worked their ass off and gave their body to make it as good as it could possibly be. That’s what we got here.
At the end, there was a real battle going on at the top of the ladder between Charlotte and Becky after Asuka slid off. That’s when Ronda Rousey showed up and decided to get her payback by simply pushing the ladder over and paving the way for Asuka to climb the ladder unimpeded to take the title for herself.
Royal Rumble looms large.
