Can Ronda Rousey and Nia Jax prove their doubters wrong?

Too soon for a rematch?

Ronda Rousey has been a part of WWE’s main roster for less than a year and has already feuded with Nia Jax twice. Something about that just feels off.

The story so far

It’s still weird to see how Jax challenged Rousey for the first time. Rousey, Charlotte Flair and Jax were hanging out at the NBC Universal upfronts back in May when it all went down. Jax, still the champion off her win at WrestleMania 34, just walked up to Rousey and deemed the pro wrestling rookie the number one contender to her title.

Awkward but okay.

In the pair’s match at Money in the Bank, Rousey and Jax showed a little chemistry during the 10 minute match but not enough to warrant a rematch six months later.

The build to TLC

Back in October Jax won a 20-women battle royal at Evolution and earned herself a future Raw women’s championship title match opportunity. It was never made clear when Jax would invoke here title match but after Survivor Series in November, The Irresistible Force made it known she wanted Rousey next.

Still involved in a Becky Lynch-Charlotte Flair triangle, the story of Jax injuring The Man was also shoe-horned into her feud with Rousey.

The go-home show

After weeks of trading promos, Rousey and Jax never really got physical during on the road to TLC. This in itself was a nice change but both Rousey and Jax are still a little too green to carry a feud with words alone.

In the last Raw before TLC, Jax cut a long winded speech touching on Lynch, Rousey and her punching power. Rousey said less than two sentences on the go-home show.

So far both feuds between Ronda Rousey and Nia Jax haven’t been that great. Compared to the SmackDown women’s triple threat tables, ladders and chairs match at TLC, Rousey versus Jax is flying completely under the radar. Maybe that’s a good thing though?

With everyone looking past this title match, maybe, just maybe Rousey and Jax can surprise the pro wrestling world with a great match at TLC? Who’s willing to place a bet on that?

Tune into cSs for full bell-to-bell coverage of TLC this Sunday starting at 6:00 p.m. ET with the Kickoff show leading right on into the main card at 7:00 p.m. ET.
