WWE changes its schedule for WrestleMania 35 weekend

NXT Takeover

Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling will be holding a Supershow at Madison Square Garden on April 6, 2019, and it was thought said show would be going head-to-head against NXT TakeOver: New York that very same night.

It will not be.

That’s because WWE has announced the schedule for WrestleMania 35 is reverting back to previous years, as told to media outlets reaching out for comment:

“WWE will be going back to its previous WrestleMania Week schedule with NXT TakeOver on Friday, April 5 and the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Saturday, April 6. We believe this better serves our fans.”

While it isn’t clear exactly why this change was made, there’s no doubt it’s good for fans who wanted to attend both shows or at least catch both shows live. It’s still an incredibly busy weekend, but the major shows are no longer overlapping.
