WWE SmackDown Live ratings (Nov. 6, 2018): Midterm blues

It was election night in the United States, and that trumped (pun semi-intended) sports entertainment, even with SmackDown dealing with the fallout of Crown Jewel and building toward Survivor Series.

And really, considering how politically-focused the country is - and that WWE was on tape from the United Kingdom - only losing 22K viewers from Tues., Oct. 30 is pretty good. The Nov. 6 episode of the blue brand drew an audience of 2,088,000, the 24th biggest audience among Tuesday’s cable originals, behind election coverage on networks like CNN, Fox News and MSNBC.

SmackDown’s ratings dropped as well, to a .68 share of the overall 18 - 49 year old demographic. That was an unusually low 17th best, but again, midterms.

Politics will still be around next Tuesday, but control of the Congress won’t be on the line, and a ‘Big Five” pay-per-view (PPV) will only be days away. While we think about how that show will do, here’s a list of SmackDown’s numbers from the past six months:
