Last night I had a dream, I saw her in the distance, she walked towards the sea. She was standing close to the shore, she watched the waves erode and she said: “You’ll understand later.” Then she cast a stone into the foam while something occurred to her: something broke in her, then she disappeared. But things are no longer what they seem, I can’t say if it was real, but I can say I’m here to liveblog this pro wrestling show for you, folks.
The show opens with general manager DRAKE MAVERICK talking about how Mustafa Ali became #1 contender last week and that his title match will take place in two weeks at Survivor Series!
DRAKE continues, saying Lucha House Party will be wrestling Mike Kanellis & TJ Perkins tonight, as well as hyping up the previously announced Murphy vs. Andrews match.
This feeds into the show’s intro video.
Lucha House Party get a picture in picture promo where they say Kanellis and TJP like to play games, but they love games, and they’re going to get payback.
Lucha House Party (Kalisto & Lince Dorado) vs. Mike Kanellis & TJ Perkins TJP
Kalisto and Perkins to start, circling, intense struggle in a collar and elbow and the luchador pulls ahead but TJ cuts him off by tearing at his mask. Off the ropes, Kalisto slides in for a spaning, fast-paced lucha jockeying for position gives way to lucha fingers and a tag to Dorado. Assisted splash into a splash off the ropes and TJP hustles to tag Kanellis in.
Mike gets cut off with a forearm and dumped to the floor, where LHP fake dives out into flexing taunts! Maria screaming encouragement at her husband, he returns to the ring and gets to striking, backing Lince into the corner before blowing her a kiss. Dorado fires up out of the corner, punching away, whip reversed, up and over, slide under, duck a lariat, headscissors takeover!
Dropkick into an arm drag and an armbar, into the ropes for the break and TJ takes advantage of the distraction to get a cheap shot in. Tag made, mounted punches into a slingshot senton atomico for one. Pick the leg, tag to Kanellis, rolling leg lock to set an elbow drop up, stomping away at the Golden Lynx’s arm! Smashing him into the corner, whip across, charging lariat connects.
Following it up with another set of the same, then off the ropes for a big boot for two! Tag to TJP, snapmare into a reverse chinlock, Dorado out with palm strikes, sidestep a running knee, duck a lariat for Kanellis, hit him with a triangle dropkick, reaching for the tag and he gets it! Kalisto in hot with a crossbody, clear the apron, duck a lariat, springboard tornillo, handspring crescent kick, whip reversed, sidestep, blind tag, roll-through enzuigiri and Mike cuts him off!
Russian legsweep into the barricade, back inside, only two so he follows it up with knees to the back. Back suplex blocked and somehow reversed into a DDT! Tags made, Lince in hot, rolling thunder enzuigiri, big flapjack takes Kanellis out, jockeying for position in the corner and into the Super Crazy triple moonsault... KANELLIS BREAKS IT UP!
TJP in, Golden Rewind takes both the rudos out, they go to the floor and Lucha House Party climb up top... STEREO MOONSAULTS TO THE FLOOR! Bronco Buster sets up in the inverted facelock but Perkins reverses into the TJP Clutch! Dorado’s got nowhere to go but Kalisto makes the save! Back body drop to the floor for Kanellis and Kalisto suicide dives on top of him!
Lince springboard sunset flip but TJP tears at his mask! He rips it off but Dorado has another mask on underneath! Leaping up into the headscissors...
Lucha House Party win by pinfall with a hurricanrana from Lince Dorado on TJP.
We get a video package of Cedric Alexander training with the King of the Old School himself, Steve Corino in the Performance Center when Lio Rush rolls up to mock him for caring enough about his craft to go back to training. Cedric explains the idea of dedication, but Lio suggests that what Alexander really needs is to wrestle... him.
Commentary then informs us that DRAKE MAVERICK has made the match official for next week.
Josh Morrell vs. Lio Rush
Collar and elbow, Rush with a wristlock, Morrell reverses and plants him on his ass with an arm wringer! Fast-paced, off the ropes, ducking and dodging and Josh connects with a leg-feed enzuigiri! Whip reversed, Lio caught with a boot but he knocks Morrell to the floor with an kick and throws him hard into the barricade! Back inside, the Blackheart coming out a little, putting boots to him and then a cannonball after referee Ryan Tran backs him off!
Short-arm drop toehold into the turnbuckles and Josh is on dream street! Up top...
Lio Rush wins by pinfall with Final Hour.
Post-match, Lio dedicates his victory to a man that truly inspires him, Cedric Alexander. Y’see, ever since Cedric lost the title, he’s been in a slump, so what he decided to do was go back to the Performance Center, and go back to his roots, and Rush ain’t mad at it. In fact he respects it, because he knows hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard, and Alexander’s been working pretty hard.
But let him remind you that absolutely nobody, and he means nobody works harder than the Man of the Hour, and if Cedric thinks for one second he can get back up on his high horse at Lio’s expense, he’s sadly mistaken. Next week the Age of Alexander meets its Final Hour. Tick tock, Cedric.
A video package spotlighting Mark Andrews follows.
Mustafa Ali gets a promo where he says at first they called him a maybe, but today they call him the Heart of 205 Live, and at WrestleMania he had a chance to be called champion, but he let that slip through his hands. Since then he’s scratched and clawed for another chance at the title, and now he’s got that fight. This time, nothing is slipping through his hands and no one’s calling him a maybe, because this time they’re gonna call him champion.
Commentary hypes up Tozawa and Kendrick vs. Gulak and Gallagher for next week.
Buddy Murphy gets a picture-in-picture promo where he says the Survivor Series match is like a fairy tale, but there’s no happy ending this time, because the bad guy always wins and he’s the biggest and baddest in the division.
Buddy Murphy vs. Mark Andrews
Circling, Murphy backs Andrews into the corner, wristlock, into a takedown, wrenching his wrist back, Mark attempts an escape but it’s blocked. Second try also blocked, third try the charm and White Lightning gets a wristlock of his own. Buddy with a snapmare, Andrews lands on his feet, leg picks, standing moonsault comes up empty and we’ve got a stalemate!
Huge biel from the champ, Mark ducks the followup and lands a big chop. Arm drag blocked, off the ropes, huge shoulder block sends Andrews to the floor! Murphy bids him return but follows out after him back in, off the ropes, thinking Frankensteiner, Buddy reverses, reversal reversed to a sunset flip... NOPE! Enzuigiri sends Murphy spiraling to the floor, off the ropes... TOPE CON GIRO SMOOTH INTO A FRANKENSTEINER ON THE FLOOR!
Back inside, headed up top, Murphy recovers, blocks a DDT and lawn darts Andrews into the turnbuckles! Biel out of the corner, Buddy stalking his prey, pop-up shove into a forearm to the kidneys, wicked right to the jaw, another huge biel and Andrews is suffering! Murphy draws him to his knees for an overhead elbow that gets a shockingly deep two count before he goes to an armbar, using his free arm to scrape Mark’s cheeks, wrench his chin, and land elbow after elbow to the side of his neck!
Cover gets two and right back to the armbar! Shift to a rear chinlock, Andrews posts to his feet and escapes with a Stunner! Murphy with the pop-up into an electric chair... ANDREWS REVERSES INTO A POISON FRANKENSTEINER! Referee Jason Ayers counting, Mark runs the ropes for a suicide dive that sends the champ ass over teakettle over the announce desk!
A followup dive over the desk gives way to repeated punches, Murphy passes him back inside but Andrews cuts him off with a dropkick before returning to the floor. Cracking good elbow, using the steps to jump off into a cannonball! White Lightning lying in wait, springboard, caught into the clutch for Murphy’s Law, reversed into a victory roll and then a double stomp, standing moonsault... NO GOOD!
Buddy dumps him to the apron, Mark with an enzuigiri, springboard sunset flip for two! Both men slow to rise, Murphy with a strike rush but he eats an enzuigiri out of the corner. Counter the followup, Cheeky Nando’s ducked, moonsault into a tornado DDT blocked, reversed, revolution powerbomb... MARK ANDREWS WILL NOT STAY DOWN! Buddy draws him up... STUNDOG MILLIONAIRE!
Headed up top for the shooting star press... THE KNEES ARE UP! Running knee connects, pumphandle...
Buddy Murphy wins by pinfall with Murphy’s Law.
That’s the show, folks.
