With the news that WWE Network will air a one hour special on Sun., Nov. 25 featuring footage shot at their Starrcade live event in Cincinnati on Sat., Nov. 24, there’s been speculation about what from the advertised card we’ll get to see on our screens.
The latest addition to the line-up seems like a safe bet, as it’s got “TV” right in its name. And because WWE’s announcement of a Miz TV segment with United States champ Shinsuke Nakamura and Rey Mysterio focuses on the Network special as much as anything else.
A match between Nakamura & Mysterio, and another between Miz & Rusev, were already part of the line-up being promoted by the venue, U.S. Bank Arena. The A-Lister’s talk show would be a good way to set-up the U.S. title match, and the Bulgarian Brute could probably find his way into the mix, too.
It’ll be interesting to see - both how this early test of bringing more house show material to the streaming service is presented, and if this fits into existing SmackDown television storylines at all.
Here’s the latest card we know of for the full Starrcade live show Saturday night:
- Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose in a Steel Cage match for the Intercontinental championship
- AJ Styles vs. Samoa Joe in a Steel Cage match
- Miz TV with Shinsuke Nakamura & Rey Mysterio
- Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Rey Mysterio for the US title
- The Miz vs. Rusev (w/Lana)
- Charlotte Flair vs. Asuka
- The Bar vs. The New Day for the Smackdown Tag Team championship
- Special Concert - Elias with Ric Flair
- Finn Bálor vs. Drew McIntyre
- Scheduled to appear: Sasha Banks, Bayley, Dolph Ziggler
