NXT results, live blog (Nov. 21, 2018): Nikki Cross vs. Candice LeRae

WWE.com

Here's a place to check results and comment along with the latest airing of WWE NXT in its regular Wednesday night at 8PM Eastern time slot on WWE Network.

Check out our Wednesday morning preview post to get caught up on what's been happening, and what we expect this week.

We'll post match results here, and we will also have our regular reactions post later. In the meantime, and most importantly, this gives you Cagesiders a dedicated place to rave and/or bitch about whatever happens on WWE’s third brand - during its initial broadcast!

NOTE: Spoilers are out there for these pre-taped broadcasts (including maybe some stuff from here? We’re not sure!), but many Cagesiders don't partake. If you are going to post or discuss spoilers for this show before they happen, or results of future shows, please use the spoiler bar in your comment.

Enjoy the show!

- We start with a video recapping all the action last Saturday at TakeOver: WarGames 2

- Mauro Ranallo, Nigel McGuinness and Percy Watson welcome us to Staples Center in Los Angeles, and run down what’s been promoted for tonight

- Keith Lee def. Fidel Bravo via pinfall after SuperNova

Lee looks bemused and soaks up the crowd chanting his name before locking up, and “Oh, Bask In My Glory” after the lock-up. Bravo tries for a cheap shot during that which Keith no-sells, then throws Fidel into the corner and hits him with the double chop. Cross-body block, finisher, total squash.

- The Women’s title two-out-of-three falls match gets a video narrated by Watson. Cathy Kelley’s fallout interview with champ Shayna Baszler (with Jessamyn Duke & Marina Shafir) is shown, where the Queen of Spades declares herself dominant and unstoppable with her Horsewomen at her side.

- Kassius Ohno interrupting Matt Riddle on the pre-show, and Riddle knocking out Ohno at TakeOver, is shown (now with McGuinness narration!). We also get Sarah Schreiber’s fallout interview with the King of Bros about his de-butt. Bro.

- Lars Sullivan def. Keita Murray via pinfall following Freak Accident

Another squash. Corner splash at the bell, basement lariat, that’s all she wrote.

- Lars demands a mic. He says this was a message, and it’s one he’s gonna keep sending until he gets an NXT championship match. He picks Murray up and delivers a few crossface blows, then hurls the enhancement guy over the top rope. Here comes Keith Lee for the save! They run the ropes, and Lee POUNCES Sullivan to the floor. Lars leaves as Ranallo hypes a potential clash of titans.

- Ranallo makes a plea for Red Cross donations to help those impacted by the California wildfires. Then Percy kicks it to a look back at Aleister Black’s win over Johnny Gargano, complete with “Exclusive Footage”. We get a new post-match clip with Schreiber trying to get Black to tell her if this is the end of his feud with Johnny. Aleister walks up to Candice LeRae and they share a long look in each other’s eyes before LeRae walks off.

- Tommaso Ciampa’s NXT championship win over Velveteen Dream gets a video package and, after a commerical we got some new footage of a backstage confrontation between Sullivan and Lee which caused General Manager William Regal to book their match for next week from San Jose.

- Then we see “Exclusive Footage” of Pete Dunne, Ricochet & War Raiders WarGames win over Undisputed ERA.

- Nikki Cross def. Candice LeRae via pinfall after a rope hung spinning neckbreaker

Candice is back to her colorful cupcake gear. Nikki sits in the corner and rocks and grins until LeRae stalks over; she doesn’t have time for Cross’ games. Candice shoves her down, but when she follows Nikki to the floor, she gets caught in the ring skirt and pummeled by Cross. That doesn’t keep Mrs. Wrestling out, though, as she lights Nikki up with a kick to the head and almost overshoots a crossbody from the apron that Ranallo sells as a high knee.

Candice in charge back in the ring, but tries for one move too many with her springboard moonsault. Nikki evades and hits her finisher. LeRae kicked out of a Purge, which the announcer say no one has ever done. Follow-up brawl leads to Cross climbing the turnbuckles and LeRae catching her and hitting a German supex from the second rope, but Nikki kicks out.

The Twisted Sister baits Candice in by laughing at her, so LeRae corners her and lights her up with wild strikes which she continues even after a ref break. She locks in a death lock, then stomps Nikki’s head to the mat with her boot. Candice locks in her husband’s submission, by Cross manages to get a foot on the ropes to make her break the Garga-No Escape. In the exchange that follows she manages to get a front facelock in and lift Candice up so her feet are on the top rope to hit the last move and finish things.
