With news breaking that the injury angle WWE did for Braun Strowman on Monday Night Raw this week was for a legitimate elbow issue he’s getting dealt with, even more changes are being made to this season of Mixed Match Challenge.
Strowman had been teaming with Ember Moon, herself an injury replacement for Alexa Bliss, and had yet to lose in the tournament. Now, he’s out, and whoever is stepping in for him will not be announced until next week, when the first round of what they’re calling the playoffs gets underway.
Speaking of which, here’s the tournament bracket for said playoffs:
This also confirms that AJ Styles is out, officially replaced by Jeff Hardy.
Next week will see the Raw side get through its first round, the SmackDown side will have its first round the week after, the semifinals will come the week after that, and the final will take place at TLC on Dec. 16 in San Jose, California. The winners will earn the number 30 entry in their respective Royal Rumble matches, as well as a paid trip anywhere in the world.
