When Nia Jax won a battle royal at Evolution late last month, she earned the right to challenge for the Raw women’s championship at an unspecified time. Said unspecified time is now specified.
She will challenge Ronda Rousey for her title at the upcoming TLC pay-per-view (PPV) on Sun., Dec. 16, 2018, at the SAP Center in San Jose, California.
Jax is the hottest she’s ever been thanks to legitimately breaking Becky Lynch’s face with a hard punch during SmackDown’s invasion of Raw just last week. She’s currently getting the loudest boos of anyone on the roster. Rousey, meanwhile, was just savagely beaten up by Charlotte Flair at Survivor Series in a match where the crowd turned on her and cheered Charlotte on. She was, however, cheered at Raw the next evening, even if she faced some “Becky Lynch” chants.
At the very least, it seems fans will be eager to cheer for Rousey to take out Jax and bridge the gap to Royal Rumble and the start of the Road to WrestleMania 35.
Here’s the updated TLC match card:
- Ronda Rousey (c) vs. Nia Jax for the Raw women’s championship
- Seth Rollins (c) vs. Dean Ambrose for the Intercontinental championship
- Braun Strowman vs. Baron Corbin in a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match
- Mixed Match Challenge 2 Final
