As he put it in the post-match interview WWE released:
“My goodness. Obviously this whole day has been anxious, nerves and everything else. Once I got in there, though, with everybody it was fun, it was comfortable. You know, I don’t know, I felt... did a few things, get a little warm, and you forget just how tough this is on your body. I’ll be feeling it for the next several days. It will be a very good reminder of why I didn’t do it for eight years and why I’m not going to do it again, if I can possibly help it. ... We are going back to our regular life, boys. It was a lot of fun to do but I’m glad it’s over too.”
D-Generation X defeated the Brothers of Destruction at Crown Jewel, so technically Michaels was victorious over Undertaker in his return match, but it’s worth noting that it was Triple H, torn pec and all, who pinned Kane for the finish. This is WWE, so that could mean nothing, but it could also mean everything.
If nothing else, the story remains intact, and there’s a way they can work this to get to another Michaels vs. Undertaker match, if they choose to go that route, and all parties involved want to do it.
Or if, like with Crown Jewel, the money is right.
