Raw acting General Manager Baron Corbin was in attendance at ringside for a match Michael Cole told us was guaranteed to crown a new Universal champion. With Roman Reigns taking a leave of absence from WWE to get treatment for the return of his leukemia, the belt was vacated. What was supposed to be a Triple Threat at Crown Jewel became a singles match between Braun Strowman and Brock Lesnar, and the winner would leave Riyadh, Saudi Arabia with the big red belt.
Corbin showed both men the prize and it was on... in more ways than one as the Lone Wolf hit Strowman with the belt at the bell to allow Brock to hit a F5, but Braun kicked out! And he’d do it again after taking a second one moments later! And a third!

A fourth sent the Monster Among Men to the floor, but Strowman managed to make it back into the ring before a countout (which would have given us the guaranteed winner in this case, per Michael Cole).
#TheBeast @BrockLesnar is angry, and he just F5'd @BraunStrowman OUT OF THE RING! #WWECrownJewel pic.twitter.com/DWZAXlCHpO

But he couldn’t kick out of a fifth.
Brock Lesnar is once again your Universal champion.
