WWE RAW RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR NOV. 19
Look around, look around, there’s no affection, only infection. Search yourself, search yourself, can I depend on you to surrender? And we will storm their shores, eyes suffocating all they see, feet sturdy on the rubble that will soon be dust. And there will be no ruins, no memory, no history, only our unrelenting march side by side. We will comb the earth and sweep it clean, hearts and feet unified, the hand of man is no match for our warless army. Please tell me that this is the end of the world, before I get going on the liveblog for this here pro wrestling show, folks.
The show opens up with acting Raw general manager Baron Corbin in the ring.
He gets on the mic and welcomes us to the undisputed A show, Monday Night Raw. He says last night was one for the history books, but most of the credit goes to Stephanie McMahon for orchestrating Raw’s clean sweep of Survivor Series. She makes her entrance and soaks it in for a moment before emphasizing that SmackDown didn’t beat Raw once, and gives Baron his share of credit.
But she wants to give credit where it’s due, and every member of the Raw family played their part and proved that they’re the best, so she hopes everybody’s ready for a celebration! Corbin says he’s got an amazing night of action set for the WWE Universe after they take care of a bit of housekeeping. Stephanie is briefly confused and Baron reminds her that she said she’d consider making his position permanent if Raw did well at Survivor Series.
She admits that she did--
(RRROOOAAARRR!)
Enter Braun Strowman, now free to put his hands on the Lone Wolf as much as he pleases. He gets in the ring and reminds McMahon that he held up his end so he wants a match with this slimeball! Steph says she did promise that and her word is her bond, so therefore, at TLC, Corbin will-- GET THESE HANDS! McMahon says that if Baron can beat Braun at TLC, he’ll become permanent general manager of Raw.
...but if he loses, he loses ALL authority. Braun says Corbin WILL lose, because he gets to pick the stipulations and won’t be held liable for ripping him to shreds, to which Steph says that dismemberment is a bit of a corporate liability, so she’s got to keep the lawyers on that one a bit longer before she can confirm it. Strowman asks about his Universal Championship match, and she says it’ll happen at the Royal Rumble... if he can beat Baron at TLC.
She plays to his ego and asks if the terms are agreeable, and Braun hesitates a moment due to a “get these hands!” chant before welcoming Corbin to Monday Night Braun and bidding that he enjoy his time as GM while it lasts, because at TLC they’re going to have a Tables, Ladders, & Chairs Match! He won’t just get These Hands, but also These Tables, These Ladders, and These Chairs!
Baron says that’s a terrible idea because the match favors him and he’s gonna leave Strowman in a pile of twisted steel and rubble... if he even makes it to TLC, because he’s got Bobby Lashley and Drew McIntyre tonight in a handicap match! McMahon says that’s an excellent match but they need to make it better, and she makes it a six-man tag, adding Baron to the heel team and Elias and Finn Balor to Braun’s side of the ledger.
And since she’s feeling so good tonight... it starts right now!
Or, well, after the break...
Back from commercial, Elias is in the ring to sing us a song ahead of his match.
He says times will get tough and you have to make a decision, but WWE will always stand for walk with Elias. He plays a few bars for us before moving on.
Baron Corbin, Bobby Lashley, & Drew McIntyre vs. Braun Strowman, Elias, & Finn Balor (Elimination Match)
Strowman and Corbin to start, circling, Baron tags McIntyre in and the two giants face off. Collar and elbow, Braun shoves him back and roars! Circling, Drew goes behind into a side headlock, shot off, shoulder lbock does nothing so he throws punches, whip across, big knee, chops, Strowman passes him into the corner but eats a boot. McIntyre with overhand punches only to get decked with a forearm!
The crowd wants Balor, Braun obliges them with a tag and slams him onto Drew! McIntyre returns a slam of his own, a boot on the apron, to the floor and he passes Finn into the barricade hard to send us to break.
Back from commercial, McIntyre snaps a vertical suplex off on Balor for two. Tag to Corbin, holding Finn in place for a stomp and Baron taunts Braun. Drawing Balor up, putting boots to him in the corner, tag to Lashley. Bob off the ropes, hard shoulder thrust for two and he grabs a reverse chinlock to follow. Balor fights to his feet and eats a slam as Lashley tags Corbin back in.
The Lone Wolf draws Finn up and eats forearms for his trouble, so close to the tag, Balor decks him with forearms, elbow up, clear the apron, leaping over and Corbin rams him hard into the corner! Charging at the tag again, Deep Six... NOPE! Tag back to Bob, Lio Rush cheering him from the floor as he hammer whips Finn hard into the corner. A second whip, up and over, Lashley catches him but Finn rolls through into a schoolboy for two!
Big lariat gets Bobby two, powerbomb lift, countered with elbows, reversed to a sunset flip, Balor rolls through, basement dropkick, the way is clear, tag to Elias! The Drifter comes in hot, whip into a charging lariat, putting boots to Lashley in the corner, warned off by referee John Cone. Whip reversed, up and over, pop up inverted dropkick, dump Baron to the floor and Bob attacks from behind!
Whip off, Elias holds onto the ropes and Balor tags himself in! Double clothesline sends Bob to the floor, Finn knocks Drew off the apron, fired up, off the ropes... TOPE CON GIRO! Back inside, Corbin with a distraction, McIntyre crotches Balor up top and tags in! Fired up, lining him up...
Drew McIntyre eliminates Finn Balor by pinfall with Claymore.
After the elimination, we go to break.
Back from commercial, Lashleys in control on Elias and tags McIntyre in for boots in the corner. Tag to Corbin, continuing the assault as referee John Cone admonishes them and Bob tags in. Drew legal again, armbar takedown into a kneeling armbar, scraping the bones of his forearm across the Drifter’s face. Elias to his feet, out with boots, off the ropes for a front kick and McIntyre clocks him with a lariat for one!
Tag back to Lashley, he comes in with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex for two and tags Baron back in. Smashing the Drifter’s face into the turnbuckle but Elias blocks his punches and fires back his own only to get hammer whipped into the turnbuckles! Half nelson chinlock applied, Lashley runs interference and tries to take Braun out but only avoids a beating himself when Drew clobbers the monster off the apron!
Elias gets out, jumping knee connects but he’s got nobody to tag! Up top, diving elbow, Bob makes the save and dumps the Drifter to the floor! Elias gets distracted trying to beat Lio up and Lashley spears him halfway out of his boots! Referee John Cone counts, Bob breaks it around seven but the Drifter can’t get back in...
Elias is eliminated by count-out.
And again we go to break.
Back from commercial and McIntyre is putting boots to Strowman before dropping to meet him with grounded punches. Tag to Lashley, shoulder thrust, choking Braun over the middle rope before tagging Corbin in. Right hands, mocking Strowman’s call to get These Hands before putting boots to him more and hammering him with overhead elbows. Back to the half nelson chinlock, but Braun throws him off and bowls him over!
Clear the apron, freight train, Stinger splash into an overhand club! Strowman around the floor... POUNCE FOR BOB! Baron with a boot up, but Braun catches him onto his shoulder, running powerslam... MCINTYRE BREAKS IT UP WITH A CHAIRSHOT!
Drew McIntyre is eliminated by disqualification.
Drew continues beating on Braun with the steel chair, knocking him clean out of the ring at one point before throwing the chair right at referee John Cone! He and Bob beat on the monster some more, ramming him into the barricade and the steel steps as Lio Rush directs traffic. Baron adds insult to injury but Braun recovers and goozles him only to get laid out with the Claymore!
Cone failing to restore order here, the match technically paused between eliminations as it is, and the heels throw Strowman into the steel steps! Corbin takes his belt off, they lash it to Braun’s wrist and stretch his arm across the steel of the steps! Baron raises the chair high before dropping it, he grabs the steps... AND SMASHES THEM ACROSS STROWMAN’S FOREARM!
The heels leave as Braun writhes in pain and is attended by medics and referees...
The match presumably goes to a no-contest, not that you’d ever know given that they didn’t announce it or anything.
A blood-spattered Strowman tells the medics he can’t feel his fingers.
A recap of Dean Ambrose’s promo where he burnt his Shield vest from last week follows, and commentary informs us that Seth Rollins will be up next.
Back from commercial, Seth Rollins makes his entrance as promised.
He greets the crowd and puts them over before mentioning that it’s six years to the day since the Shield made their debut, and he’s taken some time to reflect on those years. That made the situation with Dean Ambrose that much harder to stomach. It’s felt like an eternity because Dean hasn’t had the guts to face him like a man, but that changes at TLC when they meet for the Intercontinental Championship.
He sat in this ring last week and listened to Ambrose as he took the Shield vest and lit it on fire, saying the Shield was a burden to him that made him weak, but after watching his documentary special he realized how much he didn’t know about Dean. Why? Because he never picked up his phone and let him know, and he says he loves WWE but Seth’s known him for ten years and that’s the first time he heard him say the word love.
For the last four weeks Ambrose has just been hiding and talking, and that ends at TLC, but tonight he wants to fight, and if Dean loves it as much as he says he does, Rollins is looking for a fight right now! Ambrose appears on the tron and says Seth’s looking desperate. He’s not gonna get riled up and come running out like some kind of lunatic, no, he doesn’t get it.
Things have changed. The Shield did more harm than good, people loved it but nobody knows how they were when the cameras stopped, the things they did, how they were rotten to the core from the very beginning. Time has caught up to them and what goes around has come back around on them in a big way. Look at Roman, for what he did he has to answer to the man upstairs, and what’s worse, Seth has to answer to Ambrose himself.
So what’s next? He’s here, come find him and he’ll show you, Seth. Rollins immediately runs out of the ring and busts ass to the back!
The Architect stalks through the guts of the arena and accosts a security guard to ask if he’s seen Dean. Another guard tells him to get out of his face and Seth decks him AND his buddy! Two more guards rush in and somebody comes over to ask what’s going on, whereupon Rollins turns and heads another direction to look for a man he once called brother.
Commentary hypes up Natalya vs. Ruby Riott for later.
The Boss and Hug Connection make their entrance and we go to break ahead of their match.
Back from commercial we get the Lars Sullivan vignette they aired last night, so that’s him to Raw, presumably.
Alexa Bliss joins the commentary desk as well.
Boss and Hug Connection (Bayley & Sasha Banks) vs. Nia Jax & Tamina
Banks and Jax to start, Sasha hammering her with forearms but Nia forces her in the corner. The Boss keeps the pressure up, tag to Bayley, Poetry in Motion lariat, more right hands, tag back to Banks, putting boots to Nia, tag to the Hugger one more time and Jax bowls her over! Bayley in the corner, tag to Tamina, big headbutt, throwing her into the corners, the Hugger rolls away and gets her into the corner for a tag to Sasha.
Float over a slam, dropkick to the knee, set her over the second, tag to Bayley, knee from the apron, back elbow, running knee, tag to the Boss and she comes in with slingshot knees in the corner! Low bridge for Jax, slingshot dropkick, and we go to break.
Back from commercia, Jax in control with a cobra clutch, Bayley reverses with a jawbreaker and makes the tag. Nia with a fireman’s carry, Banks takes her leg out from under her, running knee, only two and the force of the kickout sends Sasha to the floor where Tamina blindsides her! Referee Rod Zapata counts but Snuka tags in and throws the Boss back in the ring for a cover that’s good for two.
Smashing Sasha’s face into the turnbuckle, quick tags, putting boots to Banks, Tamina makes another cover for two and goes to a reverse chinlock after. Sasha out of the hold, clear the apron, pop-up Meteora and the way is clear! Tag made, Bayley in hot, duck a lariat, clear the apron... BEFORE SNUKA TAKES HER HEAD OFF WITH A SUPERKICK! Slow to capitalize, she drags the Hugger by her ponytail and calls for Jax, but Bayley grabs a schoolboy for two!
Stunner over the middle rope, a second one, windmill right hands, Zapata pulls her away and she follows with a Lou Thesz Press into mounted punches and a running knee after! Up top, diving crossbody... NOPE! Fireman’s carry, Bayley slips out, Nia with a cheap shot with the right hand! Tag made, ramming the Hugger into the corner, freight training her only for the Boss to make the save!
Bayley on Jax with a sleeper, thrown off, boots up in the corner, fend Snuka off but Nia gets a chokebomb grip, shoves her off the ropes...
Nia Jax & Tamina win by pinfall with a Samoan drop from Jax on Bayley.
Charly Caruso’s about to start an interview when Ambrose pops up on the screen behind her to ask her to go find Rollins and tell him that he knows where he’s waiting, where the Shield used to call home.
A hype reel for tomorrow night’s episode of Mixed Match Challenge follows to send us to break.
Back from commercial, Seth Rollins is headed right for where we saw Dean Ambrose last.
He kicks the door in and enters the stairwell the Shield convened in and finds nothing. He turns around and “burn it down” is spraypainted on the door, which he hits a few more times for good measure.
A recap of 205 Live general manager DRAKE MAVERICK pissing himself follows.
We go backstage where DRAKE is in catering and a gentleman in line behind him asks if he tried the peas. Heath Slater and Rhyno joke about getting him adult diapers before deciding he can fit in children’s, and MAVERICK explodes. He realizes Rhyno is rather large and changes his traget to Chad Gable, who tells him not to get pissed. Bobby Roode tries to defuse the situation by saying he’s in bladder, eh, better shape than last night.
DRAKE tells him he’s in trouble now, which gets everyone laughing because “you’re in” sounds like “urine,” and MAVERICK storms off.
Lucha House Party make their entrance and we go to break.
Back from commercial in time for entrances.
Lucha House Party (Gran Metalik, Kalisto, & Lince Dorado) vs. the Revival (Dash Wilder & Scott Dawson) (Lucha House Rules Match)
Dawson and Kalisto to start, Scott pasting him with a chop, powerbomb denied, tag to Wilder, roll-through kick, tag to Dorado, pop-up splash, falling splash, Metalik up top for a missile dropkick, tag to Kalisto for the pin, only two! Dash with kicks and clubs, tag to Dawson and he dragon screws Kalisto to hell! Stepover toehold applied, suplex reversed into a crossbody, tag back to Wilder.
Clear the apron, he throws LHP’s pinata to the floor, but Kalisto gets away with a tag! Lince off the top with a crossbody, a dropkick, a quebrada, Dawson in, tripped up and dragged to the floor, headscissors takeover for Dash! Back body drop to the apron, right hands, Dorado crumbles, Metalik walks the rope with pinata in hand, they isolate Wilder...
Lucha House Party win by pinfall with a shooting star press from Lince Dorado on Dash Wilder.
We get a still picture recap of Charlotte Flair vs. Ronda Rousey from last night, including Flair’s turn after the match, and we go to break.
Back from commercial we get an ad for Total Divas.
Commentary plugs the Red Cross effort to help those affected by the forest fires out in California.
Seth Rollins is again walking backstage when he runs into an interview.
He says he’s annoyed at himself and frustrated, but he’s gonna find and hurt Dean Ambrose. He can say whatever he wants about him, but to say that Roman’s getting what he deserves... that’s too far. He’s been asking Dean for weeks why he turned on his brothers, and when he finds him and gets him...
Titus O’Neil shows up to tell Rollins he just saw Dean and Seth runs off after him.
In the arena proper, Ronda Rousey makes her entrance.
She soaks in the atmosphere of the crowd as they chant for Becky Lynch before she gets on the mic. She says she’ll have to wrestle Nia Jax at TLC and she knows she’s dangerous after what she did to Becky’s face, but she’ll tap Nia out, and after she’s done, the next chapter of Rousey vs. Flair is going to be written and they’re going to finish what they started!
But she didn’t come here to hit her poses and placate for our sympathy and just talk about fighting, she came here to show us what a true champion is. A true champion doesn’t pick their fights, that’s a contender’s luxury and if a champion can defend, they should step aside. She says this is her worst day, and wants somebody to fight, because if she can’t defend the title tonight, she doesn’t deserve to be champion!
Enter Baron Corbin.
He says Ronda’s request to defend here and now has been denied. As acting general manager, he in good conscience can’t let her compete tonight. She talks up how she’s never canceled a fight and she wants a challenger right now, and she’ll fight Corbin if he’s the only one here!
Baron relents and says he’ll find somebody, but she’ll be the next Raw Women’s Champion!
And so we go to break.
Back from commercial, Ronda’s opponent is... MICKIE JAMES!
Mickie James vs. Ronda Rousey (c) (WWE Raw Women’s Championship)
Circling, collar and elbow, pushing each other around the ring and Rousey throws her off and into the corner! Repeated punches, referee Rod Zapata pulls her away and James clobbers her with a kick! Pressing the attack with strikes, knee to the midsection, kick to the ribs, chops, a wicked forearm lands flush and Mickie takes her down into a sleeper hold!
Ronda out, Judo throws ensue, fireman’s carry... PIPER’S PIT! Another fireman’s carry and Piper’s Pit lands a second time! Up for a third, she grabs the arm and locks it in...
Ronda Rousey wins by submission with the cross armbar to retain the WWE Raw Women’s Championship.
Rousey slaps hands with fans up the ramp and Nia Jax and Tamina enter to confront her on the stage. Nia polishes her fist for a moment and they leave.
A still picture recap of Brock Lesnar vs. Daniel Bryan follows.
Bobby Roode and Chad Gable make their entrance, they’ll wrestle the Authors of Pain after the break.
Back from commercial we get the announcement that next year’s Survivor Series will be in Chicago.
The trailer for Fighting With My Family plays next.
Authors of Pain (Akam & Rezar) vs. Bobby Roode & Chad Gable
Gable and Akam to start, the Author with a double leg into overhead elbows, a biel, tag made, atomic drop dropped into a facebreaker for two! Chad with right hands, Rezar lifts him up into a Canadian backbreaker rack and shakes him down! Throw him aside, block the tag, thrust spinebuster into hammerfists, smashing Gable’s face hard into the mat before setting him up top... CROSS ARMBAR IN THE ROPES!
The Olympian sidesteps a charge as the crowd chants “AOPP”, tag to Roode, in hot with punches, whip reversed, a knee connects, dropkick takes Akam out on the floor! Shoulder thrust in the corner, to the second, land on his feet, off the ropes, another big knee gets one! Rezar rams him into the corner, tag made, double whip, Roo with the elbow up, boots, to the second, blockbuster connects and a tag to Gable!
Neckbreaker blocked, Chad dives off the top anyway...
Bobby Roode & Chad Gable win by pinfall with a diving sunset flip from Gable on Rezar.
We cut to Dean Ambrose in a shadowy room.
He says this is no game but it’s been fun to see Rollins run around like... well, like a lunatic. All he’s done is whine, “I can’t believe you went there with Roman”, and this isn’t about Roman, it’s about the shattered bond between brothers, and if he gets here, that’s what Ambrose is going to do to Seth, break him and shatter his bones. Dean smells something and has to cover his nose, asking if it’s Seth’s fear or Los Angeles, but no, he knows what it is, it’s the crowd.
If Rollins ever finds him there’s no explanation and no apology, he’s just gonna burn it down.
We get a B-Team promo for WWE Shop hyping this year’s Black Friday deals up to send us to break.
Back from commercial, Seth Rollins has given up and is going home when he runs into an interview.
He says he’s got a flight to catch and Ambrose doesn’t want to be caught, so oh well, he’ll stomp his face into the ground at TLC.
Natalya vs. Ruby Riott
Riott charges in but Natalya gets the double leg into the grounded punches! Ruby hides under the ropes, fires back with a mat slam into mounted punches of her own! Nattie with a big right hand, whip reversed, sidestep the charge, slingshot atomic drop into the running stomp and the basement dropkick for two! Clubbing in the corner, referee John Cone warns her and drags her off, leg pick into the Sharpshooter but Riott makes the ropes before she can get all the hold!
Neidhart to the floor after her, Riott Squad runs interference and Ruby hits a reverse STO! Kick to the back, Riott nudges Natalya to the floor to send us to break.
Back from commercial, Riott in control with a cravate as Natalya rises to her feet. Switch to a guillotine choke, Nattie hosses her up but can’t seem to break her grip at first. Twisting Ruby around, she hits the Michinoku Driver, slow to capitalize... NOPE! Clubbing away in the corner, Riott recovers and hits the STO before heading up top for the diving senton... NO GOOD!
Stomping away at the injured ribs, Ruby heads up top again only for Neidhart to slam her to the mat! Discus lariat connects, she has to fend Logan and Morgan off, sidestep Riott, double leg into the Sharpshooter in the middle of the ring but Liv yanks her teammate out of the ring! Ruby goes for a flash pin, Nattie reverses...
Natalya wins by pinfall with a side cradle.
Commentary recaps our opening six-man elimination match and Braun Strowman’s injury, because Raw is three hours long. (Three hours long.)
They inform us that Strowman has a shattered elbow.
Dean Ambrose is shown walking backstage as we go to break.
Back from commercial, Dean Ambrose makes his entrance.
He gets in the ring and on the mic and asks if the people want Seth Rollins to beat him up because he turned his back on the Shield and all of them and their dirty little children. He wants to be real, every single one of us with the proper motivation would do the same thing, whether for money or a free meal, and at least his reasons were justified.
He’s been around people like these his whole life, so emotional, cheering their little hearts out and making him literally sick, and WHAT is that smell? He can smell the crowd from the back, a giant steaming pile of phony LA garbage! He continues as Rollins appears on the tron, charging to the ringside area! They didn’t expect him to come here and tell them about themselves, he says, as he begins to back off but meets Seth in the ring!
DOUBLE LEG INTO A FLURRY OF PUNCHES, SETH CLOTHESLINES HIM TO THE FLOOR AND DIVES ON HIM! More rights, referees come down to break it up and Ambrose runs into the crowd only for Seth to drag him back and hit a plancha off the barricade! Wild punches, Dean runs inside, Seth ducks a lariat, Avada Kedavra! Blackout denied... AND AMBROSE HAMMERS HIM IN THE GENTLEMAN’S AREA!
He tells Rollins he was trying to talk to his people and to never interrupt him again... DIRTY DEEDS! Dean leaves Seth lying a moment before running back in and hitting Dirty Deeds again! He cradle’s Rollins’ head and shoves him aside as we fade to black.
That’s the show, folks.
