It hasn’t been a great few weeks for Nia Jax, at least as far as keeping her fellow performers safe in the ring. She may have won the battle royal at Evolution, and therefore a future title shot, but along the way this happened:

Then, during this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw, this happened:

This is, of course, utterly unacceptable. Yes, you’ll likely get plenty of pro wrestlers defending this by saying “shit happens” and whatever and, yeah, shit does happen, but that doesn’t make it any better. That sure looks like an unnecessarily hard shot to the current SmackDown Women’s Champion, Becky Lynch, who is in the midst of the hottest run of her career and who is just days away from a major pay-per-view match at one of the biggest shows of the year (a match WWE has pulled her out of because of this). It would be one thing if that was an errant elbow during a brawl, or this was an isolated incident, but it was not, and it is not, and that’s entirely too important a wrestler to be injuring at exactly the wrong time to be injuring her (not that there’s ever a right time). It’s reckless and careless and she has been reckless and careless too many times before.
What is there to even say other than the rhetorical question posed in the headline?
