Since his return to WWE, Kurt Angle has wrestled sporadically and we’re still waiting to see anything resembling the Kurt Angle of old. Considering his age and the wear and tear on his body, it seems unlikely we ever will.
You saw that match on Monday Night Raw this past week.
If we’re to believe the man himself, however, he’s still working the kinks out and he needs to get more work in (via Facebook):
“I do want to wrestle more. I just started wrestling again so it’s going to take a few matches before I get the kinks out, especially being older now. I’m hoping I get a little bit more consistent wrestling in the future. Either way, I love contributing. We will see.”
While his match on Raw may have been more about putting Drew McIntyre over in the strongest possible terms, it also told the story of an old man at the end of the line. It sure doesn’t seem like WWE is gearing up to get more matches under his belt so he can work those kinks out.
We shall see.
It is nice to know he’s fine with going back to being a General Manager if called upon, though. Less bumps that way.
