Daniel Cormier is built for this whole pro wrestling thing.
In New York City to hype up his UFC heavyweight title defense versus Derrick Lewis this Saturday night, Cormier appeared on SiriusXM’s Busted Open for a in-depth interview. Before he addressed the reports of him having a tryout with WWE as a commentator, Cormier had some very strong words directed at Brock Lesnar.
“So just to be standing opposite of him in an Octagon is going to be insane. But once that bell rings, once that bell rings and they say fight, I’m gonna kill him. Like he’s going to be completely in over his head”
Cormier continued.
”Brock Lesnar is ‘allegedly’ supposed to be in the building on Saturday. If Brock Lesnar comes into that octagon on Saturday, I’m slapping him. I’m not playing anymore this time. No pushing and jawing. He better not come into my octagon this weekend. I’m going to do it. I’ll definitely do it. I’m gonna smack him right in his face. I’m smacking him. I owe him one.”
Not subtle but right to the point. Killed in the cage whenever they fight and a slap in the face if Lesnar steps in the cage at UFC 230, according to Daniel Cormier.
With Lesnar already booked for Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia on Friday, is it possible he shows up to New York City and Madison Square Garden for UFC 230 on Saturday? With the Universal title on his shoulder?
