Props to WWE for playing it coy with the “will he or won’t he?” angle focused on Dean Ambrose and his Shield brothers Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins.
Take the above fallout interview clip. It’s just a few words from Ambrose, given to Kayla Braxton when she chased him down after took the pin in Raw’s main event and walked out on Reigns and Rollins:
“I don’t get it. I don’t get it. Maybe I just don’t fit in anywhere anymore.”
But even those short sentences don’t telegraph anything.
Is he understandably questioning what changes he might need to make to step up his game? While he was on the shelf dealing with a complication-filled recovery from surgery to repair a torn triceps, Roman captured the Universal title and Seth became a fan favorite Intercontinental champion. It would be natural to feel passed by.
Or is he acting like a petulant teenager, about to lash out at the friends who are trying to support him? This walkout was triggered by taking a pin... two days after he’d secured a win for the team in Australia with Dirty Deeds on Dolph Ziggler. Dean’s been in the scripted fight game for a long time - a little 50/50 booking shouldn’t cause him to walk out on his brothers. Unless he’s considering doing something worse to them...
Stay tuned.
