Big names don’t equal big numbers for WWE Raw viewership

WWE ran into some good fortune when the World Series ended Sunday night, and they were also gifted with a non-competitive NFL game as competition for this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw. The Oct. 29 episode served as both the show after a pay-per-view (PPV) event - Sunday’s Evolution - and before one - Nov. 2’s Crown Jewel. There was also the cliffhanger provided by the latest disintegration of The Shield following Roman Reigns’ shocking announcement last week, and the promise of big names like Undertaker, Brock Lesnar and Shawn Michaels on the show.

Unfortunately, that didn’t do much for viewership. The audience fell a bit from last week’s 2.54 million to 2.47 million. The hourly breakdown shows that folks tuned it at the start, but didn’t stick around as the show went along:

Hour one: 2.72 million
Hour two: 2.46 million
Hour three: 2.24 million

There’s only a couple shows left before Survivor Series, and then WWE will get the usual holiday downturn.
