The match

Ronda Rousey defends the Raw women’s championship against Nikki Bella in the main event of WWE Evolution tonight (Sun., Oct. 28, 2018) at NYCB Live in Uniondale, New York.

The story

They didn’t spend a lot of time telling it, but it’s been all about betrayal and vanity. Rousey became champion, and the Bella Twins were there to congratulate here. It wasn’t long after, though, that they saw the attention she was getting as the new face of the WWE women’s roster and decided it wasn’t something they were willing to accept.

”It made me cringe to watch you at the forefront of this evolution,” Nikki said.

They put some real heat on it with biting comments like Rousey saying “the only door you ever knocked down was the door to John Cena’s bedroom” and Nikki later firing back with “didn’t you promise your mother that she would never have to watch her baby get hurt in the Octagon and that you would retire undefeated?”

They also sniped at each other via social media and did a great job making it feel like they honest-to-goodness don’t like each other. What more can you ask for your in your title feud?

What to expect

Well, it’s Rousey, and the Nikki is a part-time wrestler, so the outcome of this doesn’t appear to be in any doubt. What’s more interesting could very well be if there’s an angle shot when it’s over, considering all the wrestlers who will be at the arena for the show.
