WWE loads up on women’s content ahead of Evolution

Although WWE didn’t devote all that much time to the women’s division on the go home episodes of Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live, Evolution is just days away and in need of promotion. With such a large presence online, the company has decided to load up with content on social media.

Here’s what they have planned:

  • A 7-hour live stream starting at 3 pm ET on Saturday, featuring full-length championship matches, episodes of Ride Along and WWE 24, and much more from WWE Network, all centered around the competitors and moments leading to this show.
  • A roundtable featuring Sasha Banks, Trish Stratus, and Toni Storm at 12 pm ET on Saturday, where a current star, a legend, and an “up-and-comer” will talk about industry.
  • A roundtable featuring Charlotte Flair, Nikki Bell, and Shayna Baszler at 2 pm ET on Saturday, all the title challengers at Evolution.
  • An interview with Stephanie McMahon at 3 pm ET on Sunday.

Again, all of this will stream live on YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook.

In addition to all that, they’ll be doing regional social media takeovers (get a list of all that here), The IIconics will take over the WWE SnapChat for the weekend starting at 9 am ET on Saturday, and Becky Lynch will do a a Reddit AMA at 1 pm ET that same day.

It seems clear WWE believes the audience for this show is primarily online, from its most hardcore audience, and they are catering to that crowd in a big way all weekend long.
