WWE SmackDown Live ratings (Oct. 23, 2018): Post-anniversary hangover

WWE.com

With no big anniversary to celebrate - and game 1 of the World Series to compete against - SmackDown’s television numbers took an expected fall on Tues., Oct. 23.

The blue brand had an audience of 2,087,000 last night for what was ostensibly the Evolution ‘go home’ show, headlined by Randy Orton vs. Jeff Hardy. That’s down 458K from a week prior. But that show had Batista and Undertaker. A better comparison point was the last “regular” episode... where this edition had 48K fewer watching than Oct. 9’s show.

WWE garnered the eighth biggest audience among Tuesday’s cable originals, trailing several Fox News programs and MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow. Over on the networks, Fox’s broadcast of the Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Boston Red Sox game, two big market teams in baseball’s final series, had an audience of almost 14 million, and ABC’s Roseanne-less The Conners drew nearly eight million.

SmackDown’s demographic share among 18 - 49 year olds wasn’t so bad, hitting .69 (nice)... slightly better than the shows prior to 1000.

Here’s a list of Tuesday numbers from the past six months:
