This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw was a somber episode, as it opened with Roman Reigns announcing he has leukemia and will be leaving WWE to fight it. The rest of the show was something of a blur, though it was entertaining for what it was.
It was also a success in the sense that viewership was up.
Indeed, per Showbuzz Daily, this week’s episode drew 2.54 million viewers, up from last week’s 2.39 million and the highest total in a month. The hourly breakdown saw improvements across the board:
Hour one: 2.60 million
Hour two: 2.62 million
Hour three: 2.41 million
It helped that they avoided the MLB Playoffs and the NFL game on ESPN wasn’t particularly interesting. Still, the shock of Roman’s announcement remains so fresh it’s hard to care much about any of these numbers right now.
For whatever it’s worth, the “Road to Evolution” special that aired just after Raw drew 1.11 million viewers.
