To say Shawn Michaels’ return to on-screen performing in WWE has been a bit messy is probably an understatement. Even if a tag match against the Brothers of Destruction as part of a DX reunion was what you wanted to see from the Showstopper in 2018, you’d probably prefer it not be mixed up in the international cluster**** that is Crown Jewel.
But while we wait to see where his first match in over eight years will take place, there is something we can all agree to thank old H-B-Shizzle for. It seems that while they were in the United Kingdom filming The Marine 6: Close Quarters, Shawn has some sage advice for Becky Lynch.
As she told Scott Fishman of TV Insider:
“Things weren’t going as well as they are now before I left to shoot.
I remember him giving me advice saying, ‘When you go back, go in as a different person. Hold your head a little bit higher. Have that attitude that you’re a top star. Go with it.’
I think this is what I’ve been trying to do since I came back.”
Lynch also gives props to Steve Austin and Mick Foley for mentoring her, but it really feels like Shawn’s was the piece of advice we’re seeing her use on screen every Tuesday for the past several months.
Sometimes, all you need is a bit of encouragement from one of the best to ever do it.
