We’re two weeks away from SmackDown’s big anniversary celebration in Washington, D.C. on Oct. 16, and news is starting to flow in about what we can expect from the 1000th episode of WWE’s other weekly episodic series.
Several names are floating around the interwebs this morning in connection to the show from Capital One Arena. Most of them via an updated advertisement on the venue’s website:

EXCUSE ME! Vickie Guerrero won’t be able to stop the tag matches, playa! And if they’re really interested in hyping Mixed Match Challenge on this landmark episode, they could book Mr. & Mrs. Taker vs. Torrie & Al Wilson.
Seriously, all those returning names under “including” are prominent parts of SmackDown history. It’s nice to see them getting a nod, even if it may just be for part of a group skit or something. If other reports are correct, Taker will likely be building to a big tag match in the desert that involves another name already announced for Oct. 16, sooo...
Then there’s a quick confirmation on yesterday’s rumor about another legend long associated with the blue brand. PWInsider says multiple sources have told them Rey Mysterio’s return as a full-time member of the WWE roster will come at SmackDown 1000.
What will the Master of the 6-1-9 be doing? How might it fit into what Evolution, the Dead Man and other big stars could be up to?
Find out in two weeks, scripted fight fans!
