Another new low for Total Divas

In case you were wondering about the basis of that rumor saying WWE was kicking around the idea of putting Ronda Rousey on Total Divas...

After a small uptick last week, the episode which aired this past Wednesday (Oct. 17) drew the smallest audience of the show’s eight seasons. Only 340,000 people tuned in to E! at 9PM Eastern this week, according to Showbuzz Daily. That’s down 40K from Oct. 10. Share of the overall 18-49 demographic also fell from .2 last week to .17 for the latest edition.

It can be argued that those are still good numbers for E!, and the market is changing - so there’s Live + Same Day, Live + 3 and Live + 7 data, not to mention the show’s eventual value as content on WWE Network, to consider. But trends are trends, at Total Divas’ is not good. 411mania crunched the numbers on the past couple seasons...

Season 6 Average: 613,000 viewers per episode
Season 7 Average: 582,583 viewers per episode
Season 8 Average (through five episodes): 386,000 per episode

The Mae Young Classic wraps up next Wednesday (Oct. 24), and some wrestling fans may find their way back to E! for first run viewings when that happens. But it seems clear the glory days of Totes Deevs are in the past.
