After a small uptick last week, the episode which aired this past Wednesday (Oct. 17) drew the smallest audience of the show’s eight seasons. Only 340,000 people tuned in to E! at 9PM Eastern this week, according to Showbuzz Daily. That’s down 40K from Oct. 10. Share of the overall 18-49 demographic also fell from .2 last week to .17 for the latest edition.
It can be argued that those are still good numbers for E!, and the market is changing - so there’s Live + Same Day, Live + 3 and Live + 7 data, not to mention the show’s eventual value as content on WWE Network, to consider. Season 6 Average: 613,000 viewers per episode
Season 7 Average: 582,583 viewers per episode
Season 8 Average (through five episodes): 386,000 per episode
The Mae Young Classic wraps up next Wednesday (Oct. 24), and some wrestling fans may find their way back to E! for first run viewings when that happens. But it seems clear the glory days of Totes Deevs are in the past.
