You think you know what Edge is doing at SmackDown 1000?

We’ll see what actually ends up happening, but the curious case of Adam Copeland and the 1000th episode of SmackDown on Oct. 16 in Washington, D.C. continues.

First, a report came out Edge was booked for the show. Then the 11 time WWE World champ publicly questioned it, while the source of the report stuck to their guns.

Earlier this week, WWE.com posted a story saying the Rated R Superstar would be appearing, and even specified he’d be hosting a “Cutting Edge” talk show segment. They didn’t specify his guest or guests, but it sure sounded like a done deal. Not so fast...

Now, the URL for that story just redirects to the “Shows” page, and an early preview for SmackDown 1000 only lists the Rey Mysterio vs. Shinsuke Nakamura World Cup qualifying match and appearances by Evolution and Undertaker.

Hmmm...

It seems pretty unlikely that a guy who was extremely prominent on the brand when WWE first broke it off from Raw in the early aughts, and whose show is returning to their Network at some point soon, would miss the anniversary episode all together. So hopefully this is just a fluctuation in creative plans.

Because if I don’t hear some Alter Bridge on Tuesday, I’m gonna be pissed.
