Early in the morning, when most of us were sleeping here in the States, Khabib Nurmagomedov tweeted this:
@WWE ask me to jump inside.

What do you think guys? #SmashLesnar #FakeFights
The problem with a tweet like this is that it reads as though he’s passing along word that WWE contacted him asking about doing something together and he’s asking his fans what they would think about that. But that may not be the case at all. It could simply be a hypothetical, as though he’s saying “if they did, what would you think?” That could very well be because so many fans brought up WWE in the wake up the pro wrestling style theatrics surrounding his fight against Conor McGregor at UFC 229.
Khabib won that fight, then jumped into the crowd to start a wild brawl. There are pending issues surrounding all that with the Nevada State Athletic Commission. That said, the pay-per-view reportedly garnered some 2.4 million buys, the most ever for a UFC event. Khabib’s antics are troubling in the sporting sense but perfect for the sports entertainment world.
It seems unlikely anything will come of this but, hey, it’s out there.
