The critically acclaimed block of wrestling WWE Network brings onto our screen each Wednesday now has a pre-show of sorts.
NXT UK will premiere next week (Oct. 17) at 8PM British / 3PM Eastern, so the initial airing of each episode will be a few hours before 205 Live kicks off a (for now) three hour block of shows on Wednesday nights in the United States. It remains to be seen how the 7 - 10PM Eastern schedule will change when the currently airing at 9PM Mae Young Classic ends in two weeks, or when the Facebook Watch series Mixed Match Challenge vacates 205 Live’s old spot on Tuesdays at 10PM. And of course, all of this on demand for your viewing pleasure as soon as it’s loaded onto WWE’s streaming service. So while reports suggest the majority of viewing does occur live, it’s all there for you to schedule around your schedule.
As for specifics of NXT UK, the action will be called by 2⁄3 of the 205 Live team, Vic Joseph and Nigel McGuinness. They’ll be joined by British broadcasting personality Radzi Chinyanganya as backstage interviewer. The roster features Superstars fans who watch NXT, the Mae Young Classic or the past United Kingdom specials are already familiar with - champion Pete Dunne, former NXT tag titleholders Moustache Mountain (Trent Seven & Tyler Bate), Mark Andrews, El Ligero, Jordan Devlin, Ashton Smith, Toni Storm and Jinny. Action will be overseen in storyline by General Manager Johnny Saint.
The episodes which start rolling out on Oct. 17 were shot back in July in Cambridge, with a second batch of shows filmed in Birmingham a month later. After some time off (presumably while they figured out the broadcast plan), they’ll be taping again this weekend in Plymouth and heading to Liverpool in late November.
Excited? Will you find another hour in your week for NXT UK, Cagesiders?
