Jinder Mahal was the 17th entrant in this year’s men’s Royal Rumble match last night (Jan. 28, 2018) at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. As he was making his way out, lead commentator Michael Cole said this:
“Former WWE champion from SmackDown Live and guys I was doing some research earlier this week and do you believe that this is the first time Mahal has ever entered a Royal Rumble match?”
He must not be very good at research, because Mahal had been in two Royal Rumble matches before this, in 2012 and 2013.
Jinder tried to cover for Cole on Twitter:
I specifically told @MichaelCole that my past 2 Rumble appearances didn't count ... and neither did last nights.
