AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura official for WrestleMania 34

AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura have stood across from each other in a major match before, a singles match for the IWGP Intercontinental championship at Wrestle Kingdom 10 at the Tokyo Dome in Japan back in early 2016. They tore the house down.

Fast forward two years and they’re all set to do it again, except this time it will be a singles match for the WWE championship at WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans.

What a world.

This came to be after Nakamura won the Royal Rumble last night in Philadelphia. In an interview immediately after, when given the choice on which champion to challenge, he wasted no time in choosing Styles. Still later, he talked about why:

He’s right. This is exactly what we, the fans, so badly want. We can only hope they get the time to put on the best match they can. Perhaps the stage will motivate them to surpass what they did in their last meeting.

We can only hope.

Either way, it’s the first match official for WrestleMania 34 on April 8 in New Orleans. Get excited!
