It took until entry number 7 to get our first surprise of the men’s Royal Rumble match tonight (Sun., Jan. 28, 2018) at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. But it was quite the surprise.
Indeed, just one night after tearing the house down in the very same building with arguably the greatest NXT match in history, NXT Champion Andrade Almas, who defeated Johnny Gargano to retain his title, entered the match, interrupting an Elias song.

The crowd gave him a thunderous ovation. Because, really, why wouldn’t they? After what he did at TakeOver: Philadelphia, he’s well on his way to becoming a much bigger star in WWE.
As of this writing, he’s still in the match. We’ll update with whatever happens to him.
UPDATE: He lasted for nearly 30 minutes but was taken out by a fresh Randy Orton after this:
