A Kickoff rematch doesn’t seem like a big deal, but it’s got to feel good for Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson to be back on the Raw radar heading into Royal Rumble. It seems likely, too, that as part of a push for their reunion with fellow Bullet Club founder Finn Bálor, The Good Brothers won’t be the duo who do the job at Royal Rumble tomorrow night (Jan. 28) in Philadelphia, either.
(Sorry, Top Guys. As much as I love The Revival, it feels like the injury bug that bit Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder after their call-up from NXT has them in the doghouse. Or if not the doghouse, at least in a holding pattern while they prove to the brass they can stay healthy long enough to finish an angle.)
The more interesting thing to watch for on Sunday, however, is how Finn looks. He’s a confirmed entry in the Men’s Rumble match. And after a bizarre stretch where he was used to build Kane for his spot in the Universal title scene which was mostly notable for how much fun he had with rumors Vince McMahon didn’t think he was “over”, reuniting with The Club has led to a lot of interest in the Irish Superstar.
At Raw25 and in the wake of it, WWE’s done things to let us know they think Bálor’s a big deal, too. Their match at The Manhattan Center included sharing the ring with members of D-X and The Kliq, including Senior Vice-President Paul “Triple H” Levesque. The company’s cranked out several Fallout videos and photo galleries online emphasizing what a major moment that was, including one late in the week featuring Shawn Michaels putting over Finn while they talk about a dream match between The Demon and The Showstopper:
Could it culminate in something like an Iron Man run in The Rumble, or even a win, for Bálor?
We’ll find out soon enough. But seeing him Too Sweet-ing his boys late in the night at Wells Fargo Center doesn’t seem nearly as out of the question as it did a couple weeks ago.
