Over a month after his original arrest the charges against WWE cruiserweight contender Rich Swann have reportedly been dropped. Per PWInsider, the kidnapping and battery charges levied on Swann were dismissed earlier today.
According to the report, the charges stemming from his Dec. 10 2017 arrest in Florida were dropped after prosecutors determined there was insufficient evidence to move forward with the case.
Earlier in the month Stephanie McMahon and Triple H gave their first comments regarding Swann, stating he would be released immediately if convicted.
Back in December, in the early Sunday morning hours, Rich Swann was arrested on two charges; battery and kidnapping/false imprisonment. According to the arrest report, Swann was charged after an incident with his wife, pro wrestler Su Yung in which he put her in a headlock and dragged her back to their car as she called for help.
Swann was immediately suspended by the WWE following the domestic incident. Prior to the charges, Swann was scheduled for a cruiserweight title number one contender’s match for the following Monday on Raw.
