Let’s just say this upfront, even by TMZ standards the person interviewing Ronda Rousey live from an airport was not prepared at all. In a new on the streets style video interview with TMZ Sports, Rousey addresses her pending WWE debut head on.
TMZ: Everybody is saying you can sweep the floor with the contenders at the Royal Rumble this weekend. And are you going to be participating in that?
Ronda Rousey: I appreciate everyone’s confidence but I’m actually leaving to Colombia right now to finish shooting ‘Mile 22’ and won’t be back until mid February. I appreciate you saying it and it’s a real honor to hear it.
Well there you have it, unless we don’t. If Ronda Rousey is in South America it makes it nearly impossible for her to also show up this Sunday in Philadelphia at the Royal Rumble.
Or Rousey could be flying to South America on Thursday morning, just so she can fly back to the US on Sunday morning?
On yesterday's NXT conference call Triple H was also asked about Rousey.
Triple H on Ronda Rousey: She's interested, we're interested. She's busy, we're interested. Says they have not sat down and hammered something out yet.— Justin LaBar (@JustinLaBar) January 24, 2018
Despite checking in as one of the early and heavy betting favorites to win the first women’s Rumble, the Rousey to WWE rumors may once again have to be put on pause.
To further squash any Rumble chatter, Rousey also released this video live from Colombia on Jan. 25.
Hola Bogota, goodbye Royal Rumble from Ronda Rousey, at least for now.
