After what felt like months of promotion, WWE held its Raw 25 event from both the Barclays and Manhattan Center in New York this week. The show had its moments, like The Miz winning the Intercontinental championship from Roman Reigns in a match that had the crowd the whole way. It was fun!
Much of the promotion for the show, however, was all about returning Legends. Some were put to better use than others. Stone Cold Steve Austin, for instance, opened the night hitting Stunners on both Vince and Shane McMahon, a nice throwback to the Attitude Era and the great fun it featured with those characters.
It was sometimes clear, though, that WWE had no clue what to do with all the names they brought in for this show.
Some of those women, keep in mind, could very well be in the first ever women’s Royal Rumble match this coming Sunday night. Instead of actually booking a segment to tease as much, they just had them walk out and wave to the crowd.
I guess they needed to keep a block of time for the Dudley Boyz to get the tables.
