The third match in the US title tournament took place tonight (Jan 2) on SmackDown. With the right to face Jinder Mahal on the line, Xaiver Woods representing The New Day and Aiden English representing the Rusev Day went one-on-one.
As Kofi Kingston, Big E and Rusev looked on from ringside Woods got the better of English in relatively quick fashion.

After English inexplicably tried to piledrive Woods from the second rope, The New Day trombone player mounted his comeback. With a pretty flying elbow from halfway across the ring Xavier Woods pinned Aiden English for the victory.
