As reported yesterday by, among others, Enzo Amore himself, the Cruiserweight champion was recently hospitalized with the flu. That led to his planned title defense against Cedric Alexander on the Jan. 1 episode of Raw being postponed.
Turns out that move may not have had Zo’s blessing 100%. The not S-A-W-F-T Superstar showed up at American Airlines Arena in Miami saying he was ready to perform, but was sent away by trainers and company officials (according to PWInsider). Amore apparently left the emergency room and showed up at the venue around 7PM Eastern. He lobbied to go ahead with his match as planned, but was ordered to leave and go back to his hotel.
Given all that, Enzo will most likely want to work 205 Live tonight in Orlando. But WWE is already advertising two other matches - one which includes #1 contender Alexander but neither which involve him - so it looks like it will be at least another week before The Certified G gets to defend his purple prize.
Stay tuned - and healthy.
