Both WWE and Paige have been noticeably quiet since reports came out that she wouldn’t be cleared to wrestle for the company again due to a bad neck. She appeared on this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw, in full wrestling gear, but acted like a manager for Absolution teammate Sonya Deville. It was also announced on the broadcast that a neck injury would force her from the first ever women’s Royal Rumble match she was previously scheduled for.
But that was all.
After the show, they released the above interview where she addresses it. Again, they don’t say much:
“Unfortunately, as much as it pains me to say this, I do unfortunately have to sit out for this Royal Rumble, per the doctor’s orders. I really, really, really, really wish I could partake in this history making match with all these ladies but, however, I will be there to support my Absolution team, which is Sonya Deville and obviously Mandy Rose here. Because guess what, ladies? Absolution is still going to make the Royal Rumble match their house.”
This is noteworthy not for what she is saying but for what she is not saying. They have yet to say she’s done wrestling for good, and are actually making clear she won’t be missing any TV time. They also have yet to refute any of the reports stating she will not be cleared to wrestle again.
Stay tuned for more.
